Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how After Eden ("we," "us," "our"), a product of Beyond Therapy LLC, collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our web application and iOS application (collectively, the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly:

• Email address and password when you create an account
• Name or display name (optional)
• Quiz answers and archetype results
• Journal entries you write in the App
• Anonymous submissions you choose to submit (e.g., Hot & Healed)

Information collected automatically:

• Audio listening progress and streak data
• IP address and approximate location (country/region)
• Device type, operating system, and app version
• Usage data such as pages visited and features used
• Crash reports and performance diagnostics

Payment information:

• On iOS: purchases are processed by Apple via in-app purchase. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
• On web: purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers. We receive confirmation of subscription status only.

Sign in with Apple:

If you choose to sign in using Apple ID on iOS, we receive a unique identifier and, if you permit it, your name and email address. You may choose to hide your email using Apple's private relay. We treat this information the same as any account information.

3. How we use your information

• To create and maintain your account
• To provide access to content you have purchased
• To personalize your experience based on your archetype results
• To send the Daily Unlearn email if you have opted in
• To process and manage subscription billing
• To track listening streaks and progress
• To generate anonymous aggregate statistics (e.g., how many users share your archetype)
• To improve the App and diagnose technical issues
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising targeting. We do not build advertising profiles.

4. What we never do

• Sell your personal data to any third party
• Share your journal entries with anyone, including staff
• Quote or reproduce your journal entries in any form
• Identify you in aggregate reporting
• Use your data to target you with ads
• Share your information with data brokers

5. Information sharing and disclosure

We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (web payment processing), Apple (iOS in-app purchases), Vercel (hosting and infrastructure), RevenueCat (iOS subscription management). Each operates under their own privacy policy and processes data only as needed to provide their service.
• Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or government request, we may disclose information. We will notify you unless prohibited by law.
• Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. You will be notified in advance.
• With your consent: For any other purpose, only with your explicit consent.

6. Anonymous aggregate data

We surface aggregate counts (e.g., "847 people who share your archetype found this true") to help users feel less alone. This uses counts only — never quotes, never identifiable content, never linked to any individual. You can opt out of contributing to aggregate counts at any time in Settings.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Journal entries, quiz results, and listening history are retained until you delete them or close your account. You may delete individual journal entries at any time. Upon account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for tax purposes, which are retained for 7 years).

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-out: Opt out of aggregate data contribution in Settings
• Email opt-out: Unsubscribe from Daily Unlearn emails at any time via the unsubscribe link

9. Data security

Journal entries are encrypted at rest. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel with a documented need. We perform regular security reviews of our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable industry-standard measures to protect your information.

10. Children's privacy

After Eden is intended for adults ages 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at info@beyond-a-therapist.com and we will delete the account promptly.

11. Not a clinical service

After Eden is a media and educational product. It does not create a therapist-client relationship. Hallel Saine holds LCSW licensure in Florida and Colorado; those professional obligations do not extend to this App. This App is not a safe harbor for crisis disclosure. If you are in crisis, please contact 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or a licensed mental health professional.

12. International users

After Eden is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

13. California residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information). 14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and through a notice in the App at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
